Speakers, by These Horses in collaboration with Anne Tetzlaff is a book-work that celebrates the language and visuality of performance art, inviting audiences to experience moments of connection via the page.

These Horses have been working since 2002, previewing work at the BAC, London, the Arnolfini, Bristol, CCA, Glasgow and Sophiensaele, Berlin. For the last 3 years Anne Tetzlaff has been photographing the group in live shows and in hap-hazard outdoor situations. This collaboration sees Tetzlaff’s archive of cogently affecting photographs re-animated alongside the group’s experimental texts. Where each page is evocative of an instant event, resonating with their performance craft, These Horses produce live texts that re-present language as a performic tool, translating it into dance, noise and hectic activity.

The bookwork will be launched at Permanent Gallery Bookshop, Brighton on 7th July 2007.
